This student accommodation development is located on Mardyke Walk which is to the west of Cork City Centre. The site is in a prominent location and is situated directly across from the entrance to Fitzgerald’s Park. The development is located in an Architectural Conservation Area and the design is a direct response to the site context making a positive contribution to the streetscape in which it is set. The project consists of 41 en-suite bedrooms within 10 apartments.
Dorgan’s Road Student Accommodation, Cork
Dorgan’s Road is a two-phase student accommodation development located in close proximity to University College Cork main campus. The development consists of the refurbishment of the existing Dunleary House, which is on the National Inventory of Architectural Heritage, and the addition of 12 new townhouse units. Overall the site provides 79 student bed spaces which are a positive contribution to the significant demand for student accommodation in Cork City. The architectural approach focused on the creation of high quality spaces that serve to enliven the fabric of the area in which it is set.
